This year, eCoupons.com predicts that Cyber Black Friday sales will grow to almost $1 billion.Last year, shoppers spent $816 million online. This year more than one thousand retailers are starting their online sales ahead of Cyber Monday, and this could lead to 20% more sales.
The National Retail Federation is forecasting that 147 million shoppers plan to shop this Black Friday weekend. The number is down from 152 million in 2011.
“Though the Black Friday tradition is here to stay, there’s no question that it has changed in recent years: already there is a tremendous amount of excitement and anticipation surrounding retailers’ Thanksgiving and Black Friday promotions,” NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay said in a statement.
