Home theater has a big presence at the Consumer Electronics show, but don't expect too much innovation at CES 2013.
Given its cinematic namesake, it's fitting that home theater electronics seem to move in slow motion. Smartphones and tablets make huge leaps every 6 months, and yet home theater fans are stuck with virtually the same crufty AV receivers and Blu-ray players that haven't changed that much over the last few years.
So it's not surprising that when I started looking ahead to CES 2013, my expectations haven't changed much

At the 2013 International CES, expect a stronger focus on mobile health and telemedicine solutions; a resurgence of 12-volt and other in-vehicle technologies; high-quality, cost-effective audio gear; everything tablet related; and just about any type of consumer electronic device you can think of. Hey, what would you expect with almost two million square feet of exhibition space, 3,000 exhibitors and 150,000 attendees.

CEA announced Thursday that FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski, Ericsson CEO Hans Vestberg and Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington will appear at "SuperSessions" this January at International CES.
