Cracker Barrel Makes More Moves to Streamline

Cracker Barrel has cut 20 jobs and given direct responsibility for operations of its dining and merchandise sales to a single executive - a shift that some analysts think could be linked to criticism from the chain's top stockholder.

Separately, the Lebanon-based restaurant company hired a 20-year retail veteran with expertise in brand strategy and Internet sales as senior vice president of retail.

Laura A. Daily will start on May 7 after working as vice president in charge of merchandising and trends with Ballard Designs, an Internet and catalog home furnishings retailer
