Google Opens Nest Platform to Developers

Apple and other technology companies are in the process of creating applications and platforms for smart home devices. The idea behind those platforms is that devices should all be connected in one place so that controlling them is easy. In order for that sort of platform to work, however, device creators need to be on board. Nest, the company Google bought for $3.2 billion, says that its developer program is opening to those platforms. Developers will now have the ability to tap into Nest’s devices.
