
A home-grown, family-owned business that started in 1962 in Ken and Jalaine Leetch's garage on Kruse Street in Grand Island is celebrating its 50th anniversary this month.
Ken's Appliance, 2211 N. Webb Road in the Main Street Station, is now owned by their son, Gail Leetch. After 50 years, one thing that hasn't changed is Ken's Appliance's commitment to sales, service, parts, delivery and support.
"It is the only job I have ever had except for delivering newspapers," Gail Leetch said.
...Rent-to-own furniture, electronics and appliance retailer Aaron's (NYSE: AAN) reported record first-quarter sales and earnings.
For the three months ended March 31, revenue rose 10 percent to $586.9 million, net income was up 60 percent to $71.2 million, and same-store sales rose 4.8 percent, compared with the first-quarter 2011.
