Mixed Reactions to Best Buy Super Bowl Ad; Co. Closes 15 Stores

Best Buy’s expensive Super Bowl ad appears to have been popular among viewers, although some critics had complaints; meanwhile, the company continues to close big-box stores and cuts jobs, although its period of turmoil has proven lucrative for many executives.

As struggling electronics retailer Best Buy Company, Inc., attempts to turn itself around, it ran its third consecutive Super Bowl ad-one that spurred mixed reactions.

The Richfield-based company-whose founder, Richard Schulze, is working on a takeover bid-aired its commercial during the first quarter of the big game on February 3.
