Nexus 4, LG's well-rumored first participation in Google's Nexus program, has unwittingly been revealed by UK phone retailer Carphone Warehouse. An entirely official-looking pre-order page has been put up for the handset, whose display is said to measure 4.7 inches diagonally with a 1280 x 768 resolution. Other salient features include Android 4.2, still called Jelly Bean, a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, NFC, and an 8-megapixel camera. Hisense, the Chinese electronics company which two years ago expanded beyond OEM manufacturing to launch its own brand in the U.S., will step up its product line deployment stateside for the holiday sales season with the availability of the Hisense Pulse with Google TV set-top box that allows viewers to both “smarten” their legacy flat-panel TVs and access any of 2,000 TV-optimized apps from the Google Play store, via a minimally layered interface.

Interbrand this week released its annual rankings of the Best Global Brands, and three technology firms- Apple, Google and Microsoft- are in the top five. Apple moved from eighth to second, with Google remaining fourth and Microsoft sliding from third to fifth.
