Pioneer came out with the AppRadio a few years ago, and it was good. But the AppRadio 2 is even better. It works with both Apple iOS and Android smartphones. The two main things that make it better are safety and a better user experience. You could go out and purchase a head unit that uses your iPhone as the faceplate.

Pioneer understands that people are already carrying around all the content they need on their smartphones and they are making it easier than ever to access it.
"The smartphone has become the source for consumer entertainment. They want to share content from their device(s) and we're making that happen, whether it's at home, in the car, or on the go," said Russ Johnston, executive vice president of corporate communications for Pioneer Electronics.
The lineup includes the GM-D8604 4-channel model and GM-D9601 and GM-D8601 mono models. They feature an extremely compact chassis for maximum installation flexibility, a new industrial cosmetic design, balanced audio inputs for improved sound quality and higher power output compared with previous models.
