Rental Home of Appliance Store Owner is Raided by SWAT

December 18, 2012
The rental property of an appliance store owner known for his zany TV commercials was raided this week after investigators received information that a homicide suspect who is also a documented gang member was inside the residence, Police Chief Mike Chitwood said.

But John Hinton, owner of John's Appliance City on Beville Road in the city, is complaining that his rental house on Westwood Drive was trashed by police during a raid at 5 a.m. Thursday.

"They blew the front door off the hinges," Hinton said Friday.
