Whirlpool CEO Compensation Up 29% in 2012

Whirlpool Corp. said Chairman and Chief Executive Jeff Fettig's 2012 compensation rose 29% on sharply higher cash bonuses linked to the appliance maker's performance.

Mr. Fettig's salary, incentive-based pay, executive perks, stock awards and the value of his pension amounted to $15.9 million, up from $12.3 million in 2011, according to the company's proxy filing Monday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Whirlpool, the world's largest manufacturer of household appliances based on sales, awarded Mr. Fettig $3.1 million in nonequity incentive pay, up from $513,125 in 2011. The increase stemmed largely
