While Nintendo has said all the right things in recent months about increasing production and avoiding the Wii shortages of the last two years this holiday season, a leading gaming retailer is saying the opposite- that shortages are likely, and the console may be completely gone by Christmas.
Speaking to the Web site gamesindustry.biz, GameStop chief financial officer David Carlson said that while the Wii console is in good stock now, he expects to completely run out of the Wii by the actual holiday. In addition, Carlson said the popular "Wii Fit" game is "very, very short supply," while the full kit for the "Rock Band" game is also in limited stock.
