Amazon, as has been its custom, said Monday that the new Kindle Fire HD is now its top-selling product. Reuters reported that Amazon has sold more of the $199 device than any other product on the site since it went on sale Sept. 6.
The company made the announcement the day before Apple announces its new, smaller iPad, which is expected to compete directly with the Kindle Fire HD.
As usual, Amazon did not release exact sales figures.
Meanwhile, PaidContent and other media outlets reported Monday that Amazon has discontinued the Kindle Touch product.
