According to the Wall Street Journal's Digits blog, the mistake led to the price being dropped at stores in various cities- and as word spread on the Internet, customers showed up to buy the discounted phones. However, on Sunday, a Best Buy marketing manager posted to Twitter that the actual price was $199, and referred to the mislabeling as a "human error pricing mistake."
