Apple on Thursday unveiled its latest iPhone software and, in an expected move, sought to make the iPhone more palatable to business users. According to the AP, the announcement by CEO Steve Jobs also included a list of instructions for developers on how to create software programs for the device.

A beta version was released Thursday; a full version is expected to arrive in June. According to the Wall Street Journal, the company is hoping to sell 100 million iPhone devices by year’s end.

The move is seen as a decision by Apple to compete toe-to-toe with Research in Motion’s BlackBerry and Palm’s Treo in the business market. The new software incorporates Microsoft’s Exchange software, in order to better integrate e-mail software used by business customers.
