Apple has banned the protective screen category from the accessory offerings in its retail stores, iLounge reported Wednesday.

The ban, which affects both screen-only products and kits that include screens, will apply to products meant for iPods, iPhones, and all other Apple products. Apple did not state a reason for the ban.

It is simple why. The plastic screen protects the iphone or ipod. Thus you dont scratch your screen and scratch the plastic instead which is a 10 replacement, instead of a 100 or more fix from Apple. I view this nothing more than the company trying to make more money on tuff economic times for cusomers.
