Apple this week will open its first store in Washington, D.C., after a contentious battle that dragged on for more than two years. The store is located at 1229 Wisconsin Ave. NW in the Georgetown section of the District,
the Washington Business Journal reported.
Since purchasing the building in 2007, Apple had been engaged in a back-and-forth with the Old Georgetown Board, which sought to "tone down" the building's design.
The chain has seven other stores in the area, all in the Maryland and Virginia suburbs.
