AT&T launched a pilot project for selling netbook computers just last month, but the company is already taking the project nationally.

The carrier and retailer said this week that it will begin carrying the products- from such brands as Acer, Dell and Lenovo- this summer at all of its stores nationwide. The program had launched April 1 in only Atlanta and Philadelphia.

"Our customers in the Atlanta and Philadelphia markets have responded well and the response isn't limited to a specific demographic," AT&T's president and CEO for consumer markets, Ralph de la Vega, said as part of the announcement. "We're getting interest from tweens, teens, young adults, moms on the go and small business owners. Consumers and small business customers really seem to be attracted to the convenience and portability of this connected device."
