The service offers access to 42 satellite and radio channels for in-vehicle entertainment systems. The CruiseCast service is available for consumers throughout the 48 contiguous states and the service will be distributed through car dealers, consumer electronics vendors, and other tech-savvy businesses. Crutchfield said this week that it will carry the service.
The available channels include CNN Mobile Live, ESPN mobile, Disney Channel, USA, Discovery Channel, SCI FI, and Accuweather. The AT&T CruiseCast equipment retails at $1,299 with a monthly subscription fee of $28.
The CruiseCast product announcement was originally scheduled for Monday, but was delayed two days after GM filed for bankruptcy.
