Best Buy announced concrete plans for European expansion in the next several years
October 15, 2008 By Stephen SilverBest Buy will open 100 stores in Europe in the next four or five years, the CEO of the company's European division told Reuters Tuesday. The stores will be part of the company's joint venture with Carphone Warehouse, of which it purchased a 50 percent stake earlier this year.
The first of the European stores will likely appear in Great Britain next summer, with the first stores in mainland Europe expected to arrive in 2013. Until now, the chain had only operating in the U.S. and Canada, with a handful of additional locations in China.
