Best Buy will be an exhibitor at International CES for the first time ever in January, a company spokeswoman said at the CES Press Preview in New York Tuesday.

Best Buy's Erin Gunderson told Dealerscope that although is not primarily targeted at consumers, Best Buy employees have been "bombarded with questions" about new products immediately after CES each year, which went into the decision to appear at the event next year.

Gunderson added that while Best Buy's plans for CES are not final, "a lot of employees" will take part in the presentation. Also, Best Buy CEO Brian Dunn will participate in the "Global Perspective on Retail" panel at CES, at 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 8.
