Best Buy has launched a new program meant to mitigate the environmental effect on users' cell phone usage. Under the project, called Green Your Phone, customers can purchase, for $10, a card representing 500 kilowatts of certified renewable energy credits.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the offer is being made in partnership with Colorado-based Renewable Choice Energy. Those purchasing the cards are adding to the power grid the equivalent of what it takes to produce and power two mobile phones for two years.

All you crazy people that are buying energy credits should buy them from Al Gore to make them feel real good. I sure OBAMA will allow a tax credit for such foolishness.
