Best Buy Thursday announced that it will open its first-ever 24-store, in a former Circuit City in New York's Union Square neighborhood.

The 48,000-square foot store will be open 24 hours for most of the week, from 8 a.m. on Monday through midnight Saturday, with Sunday hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The store will open Nov. 13.

"Today`s consumers have hectic lifestyles that don`t always conform to traditional retail hours," CEO Brian Dunn said in a statement. "New York has long been known as the city that never sleeps, making Manhattan the perfect location for our first 24-hour store."

Interesting. I knew it was only a matter of time before this happened. I figured the first Best Buy store to do this would be in a busy American city. Only thing I would worry about it a greater chance of theft at night.
