Depending on who you are, Mother, the universal monitoring solution by Sen.se, could easily be considered the cutest or creepiest smart home object to grace the CES show floor last week. (Very few IoT devices smile at you.) But despite its odd exterior, Mother is a great example of how a single IoT device can be used to enhance the performance of multiple everyday tasks.
Mother is the head of a family of Motion Cookies, which are multipurpose, autonomous sensors that connect real-life actions, detect and understand movements, temperatures and more. The Motion Cookies are automatically connected to the application the user assigns to them.
For instance, users can attach motion cookies to their toothbrushes and compete against each other’s brushing times while another cookie can be attached to a child’s backpack to let parents know when the child is home from school. Each cookie can be detected and monitored by the Mother system.
