Botspot (Remember Them?) was Named Among Best German Startups
Last Fall, we traveled to Berlin to cover IFA 2016, and while there, we had the opportunity to meet with a couple of German startups. Among the companies in attendance was botspot, creators of a unique 3D full body scanner, which we highlighted as one of the standouts of the event.
Turns out, we weren’t the only ones who felt so warmly about the company. German tech and business publication Made In Germany (think Inc. crossed with Wired) selected botspot among their four most outstanding startups in Germany. Ultimately, the magazine gave the highest ranking to botspot.
At our pre-IFA event, botspot showed off their technology, which has been used to create incredibly detailed action figure-like printouts of scanned people and objects. The 3D scans can also be used as digital objects and placed in video games and other similar applications. And, as Made In Germany noted, the 3D data captured by botspot’s scanners can be used in a multitude of industries, including VR, AR, measuring, product monitoring, facial recognition, archiving, and more.
