Following its success with its exclusive deal to distribute AC/DC's "Black Ice" album earlier this fall, Walmart has landed another exclusive on an album by a popular boomer rock act- Bruce Springsteen's upcoming greatest hits collection.
According to Billboard the album, titled simply "Greatest Hits," will appear at Walmart starting Jan. 13. Featuring such hits from throughout the Boss' four-decade career as "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)," "Born to Run," "Thunder Road," "The Rising," and "Radio Nowhere," the 12-track album consists only of songs Springsteen has recorded along while backed by E-Street Band.
Springsteen's previous greatest hits album, released in the mid-'90s, included many songs from Springsteen's solo albums, after he disbanded the E-Street Band in 1984.
The new album is not to be confused with "Working on a Dream," another new album of all-original songs that Springsteen plans to release two weeks later; that CD will be available at every major retailer in additional to Walmart. Springsteen and the band are set to perform at halftime of Super Bowl XLIII on Feb. 1.
