CEA: Confidence Falls in January
Both measures of consumer confidence have dropped in January, the Consumer Electronics Association said Tuesday. The numbers are in line with post-holiday months in recent years.
The CEA Index of Consumer Technology Expectations (ICTE) dropped 14.3 points from December, while the CEA Index of Consumer Expectations dropped three points.
“Overall economic sentiment decreased slightly in January after the spike from the holiday season"” said Shawn DuBravac, CEA's chief economist and senior director of research, said in a statement.. "Consumers are taking a wait-and-see approach to the New Year."
