CEA Confidence Figures Down
February 28, 2012The CEA Index of Consumer Expectations (ICE) dropped 2.6 points, while the CEA Index of Consumer Technology Expectations (ICTE) dropped 2.4 points.
"February's results suggest that some uncertainty remains for consumers regarding near-term economic prospects," Shawn DuBravac, CEA's chief economist and director of research, said as part of the announcement.
"With that said, indexes are higher than this time last year, which indicates we are moving further along in the path to economic recovery. Despite slight drops in both indexes this month, the trend remains intact: consumer sentiment continues to improve as the underlying economy strengthens."
