CEA Confidence Numbers Drop

The Consumer Electronics Association Tuesday reported drops in both of its measures of consumer confidence for the month of July.

The CEA Index of Consumer Expectations (ICE), which measures the overall economy, dropped one point, while the Index of Consumer Technology Expectations (ICTE) dropped 2.5 points from the month before.

“Despite a slight dip in consumer sentiment around technology spending, CEA data shows consumer have continued to expand their spending on technologies over the last several months,” CEA chief economist Shawn DuBravac said as part of the announcement.
