CEA: Confidence Rose Again in December
In another bit of positive economic news at year's end, the Consumer Electronics Association said Tuesday that consumer confidence in both consumer technology and the overall economy rose in December.
The CEA Index of Consumer Technology Expectations (ICTE) reached 93.6, which represented both a yearly high and a two-point gain over November. Meanwhile, the CEA Index of Consumer Expectations (ICE), which measures the overall economy, jumped 14 points from its November all-time low, to 170.7.
Meanwhile, the Conference Board agreed with CEA's positive assessment of overall consumer confidence, reporting a ten-point increase in December to 64.5, following November's 15-point gain.
