The Consumer Electronics Association Monday added the name of Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) to its list of honorees for this year's Digital Patriots Dinner, announcing that Rep. Walden has been named the first "Innovation Policy Ninja." Walden is being recognized for his work on the spectrum issue.

Previously announced honorees included Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kans.), Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) and Dish CEO Joseph Clayton. All will be recognized at the annual Digital Patriots Dinner in Washington April 17.

“We couldn’t be more proud to honor our 2013 Digital Patriots and to launch a new Innovation Policy Ninja award, recognizing a forward thinking legislator who advances public policies that will spur innovation for years to come. This year’s class has unprecedented passion for technology and supports innovation that is critical to the consumer electronics industry,”  Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA, said as part of the announcement.

“These policy leaders and technology visionaries know that our industry creates jobs, improves lives and drives the American economy. They have all proven themselves as exemplary advocates for advancing innovation.”
