With the one-year mark approaching for the analog television shutoff, Consumer Electronics Association Jason Oxman spoke with the Wall Street Journal about next February’s change, happenings at International CES, and other issues.

In the interview, with “Talking Tech” columnist Lee Gomes, Oxman said while 50 percent of U.S. households now own a digital television, about 11 percent of those households receive analog signals, and will have to either buy digital TVs or take advantage of the government’s coupon program.

Oxman also discussed the CEA’s neutral stance in the hi-def DVD format war, and the latest advances in mobile phones and 1080p TV sets.
