A Mounting Offensive

The mounts, racks, furniture and lifts that powered CEDIA EXPO 2011

We saw lots of nice screens, TVs, projectors and more at CEDIA EXPO 2011. But all of these innovations don’t amount to much without the lifts, mounts, furniture and power protection the following companies provide. Read on to find out more about BDI, Chief, Crimson, CWD, Future Automation, OmniMount, Peerless AV, Sanus and SurgeX

The latest offerings from BDI include the OLA line of TV cabinets that features a more modern look with curved design. The curved profile adds to the contemporary feel and the cabinets feature panels separated by IR-friendly curved grey-tinted glass doors that appear to wrap around the cabinet’s sides. The open compartment includes an adjustable shelf for use with a speaker, media or addition components. Dimensions are 19x69x21.25 in. (HxWxD) and recommened TV size is up to 73″.

There are also ventilation slots in the bottom, shelves and back of OLA for air circulation.

Also on display at BDI was the new NORA line. Shipping in both gloss white and satin black, NORA features two side compartments with soft-close doors and a center cabinet, which includes an open speaker compartment and a flip-down component door that conceals two additional compartments. It also boasts a micro-etched glass top that is fingerprint resistent.

Dimensions are 20.25×76.75×22 in. (HxWxD) and holds up to recommended 82″ TVs. NORA also features IR-friendly glass doors.
