CES 2014 News: Audi’s Stadler to Keynote, MotionTech Zone Added

Rupert Stadler

The Consumer Electronics Association said Tuesday that Rupert Stadler, Audi AG’s chairman, will deliver a keynote address at International CES in January. Sadler will speak Monday, Jan. 6, at 8:30 p.m. at The Cosmopolitan’s Chelsea Theater, a first-time venue for a CES keynote.

Audi will also host an “Audi Night,” also at the Cosmopolitan, following Stadler’s address.

“Audi is leading the charge in developing innovative technologies that provide the most connected driving experience for consumers,” Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA, said in a statement.

“Under Rupert Stadler’s leadership, Audi has become a market leader in providing seamless technology to enhance safety behind the wheel and access to real-time information in the car. We are thrilled to welcome Stadler to the 2014 CES keynote stage.”

Stadler also spoke at CES in 2011.

Also Tuesday, CEA announced that CES will feature a MotionTech TechZone for the first time. It will feature products from the motion technology field, including products from Hillcrest Technologies, MEMS, Movea and other vendors.

“Sensor technologies are changing the way we use our tech devices and empowering us to use motion technology tools in new, more personalized ways for gaming, health and fitness monitoring, security systems and more,” Karen Chupka, senior vice president, International CES and corporate business strategy, said as part of the announcement.

“The response to CES’ MotionTech has been exciting and is proof that motion technologies have advanced past their industrial uses and are growing to create new capabilities in the consumer sector.”
