Circuit City has retained Streambank, LLC in order to assist in the sale of its intellectual property assets, which include its name and trademarks, its Web site, and the firedog brand name.

The decision follows the "stalking horse" agreement the defunct company reached with Systemax, Inc., and the scheduling of an auction of the company's assets for May.

"We are very pleased to be retained by Circuit City,” Gabe Fried, Streambank's founder, said as part of the announcement. “Circuit City was an iconic brand and an e-commerce leader. We are confident that the marketplace recognizes the value in Circuit City’s IP assets, particularly firedog (SM) which through development and heavy investment in that brand Circuit City became a leader in support services.”
