Cowboy Maloney’s to Mark 20 Years of Satellite TV

Mississippi retailer Cowboy Maloney’s Electric City, which sold the first-ever digital satellite TV system in June of 1994, will mark the 20th anniversary of the occasion next month.

Cowboy Maloney’s, in association with the Mississippi Kidney Foundation, will celebrate with golf outing and dinner on June 17 at the Country Club of Jackson. Anyone “associated with the launch” of the technology is invited to participate.

The first unit, sold by Cowboy Maloney’s, along with RCA and DirecTV, was sold to a Mr. Lemoyne Martin, a local auto dealer, on June 17, 1994.
