Enable Holdings, Inc. and uBid.com announced this week the launch of a program for recycling of consumer electronics. The program is free for consumers, who can receive cash back for their products in some cases.

Products accepted include digital cameras, digital picture frames, PCs, monitors, MP3 players, PDAs and smartphones.

"This is a practical solution that makes it easy for consumers to go green," Enable CEO Jeff Hoffman said as part of the announcement. "Enable Holdings is providing a convenient way for consumers to responsibly recycle electronics through the uBid.com Trade-In and Recycling program. This is another example of companies working together to reduce the environmental impact of products that no longer have a useful purpose.

If you are a UBID Certified Merchant, and have not been paid for a couple of months, you can get help by calling the SEC, Attorney General of Ill, all of the local TV stations, and Newspapers. Enable Holdings owns UBID, Redtag, Redtag Live, and a few others. Hope this helps.

Kashless.org is another site that works similarly to this. If you have something to give away/recycle, you post it on the site and interested users will take it off your hands. It's a great way to get rid of things without throwing them out. Recently, they added a RecycleBank feature, so you get points for everything you give away (and other things you do on the site), and the points add up to rewards (like gift cards, travel, etc - just like with credit card reward systems).

Check it out at www.kashless.org.
