ESPN Presents the National Championship in 3D
College football may not have a playoff yet, but it does have a 3D broadcast partner. In a first, ESPN 3D presented a live 3D broadcast of the BCS National Championship Game at the Las Vegas Hotel Monday night, part of International CES. Alabama defeated LSU, 21-0, to win its second national title in three years.
Prior to the game, the company's 3D chief, Bryan Burns, touted the company's 3D efforts, which have included broadcasts of all of the network's major properties with the exception of the NFL. ESPN 3D will broadcast more than 135 events this year.
The event was part of a major presence at CES for the Disney-owned sports broadcasting giant, which will also feature live studio shows Tuesday and a live, 3D boxing card Wednesday.
