Gamevice, makers of one of the better mobile controllers we’ve seen on the market, announced support for a number of new devices and gadgets recently.
The company’s GV 157 model is now fully compatible with the iPhone X and iPhone 8/8 Plus, it revealed in a statement. Additionally, Gamevice announced support for Sphero’s app-enabled droids, which is timed well with the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
All of this is topped off by the fact that Gamevice announced a new lower price for the GV 157, which now runs at $79.95, a 20 percent savings.
“We chose to lower the price to $79.95 as demand for Gamevice has increased due to the fact that it can now be used for more than just gaming,” Phillip Hyun, CEO, Gamevice, said in a statement. “Gamevice not only makes gaming on smartphones better, but it adds precision control to app controlled gadgets such as Sphero’s app-enabled droids and DJI’s Spark Drone, with more on the way.”
With the added iPhone support, one concern that users might have—especially with the iPhone X—is how the controller would impact viewability with the edge-to-edge display. Gamevice said the controller still allows for 100 percent of the screen to be seen, providing an “unobstructed view,” which is essential for full faming immersion.
The Sphero app-enabled droids have been a popular item at consumer tech shows over the last few years, especially with their connection to the relaunch of the Star Wars franchise. The BB-8 and R2-D2 drones are simple products that provide countless hours of enjoyment.
Gamevice will be at CES 2018 in January and will have the GV 157 and other products on display.
