Google Debuts Android TV, New Version of Android and In-Car Features and More

Google had quite a few announcements to make Wednesday at its Google I/O conference in San Francisco. Some highlights:

– The company introduced a new version of Android, codenamed Android L, featuring a flatter look known as “Material Design.” It will arrive on phones later this year.

– Also new from Google is Android TV, a new interface, supporting Google Cast technology, which will be built into products made by several Google CE partners later this year. Google also updated its Chromecast device.

– Android Wear is a version of Android for wearable devices, which will be available on new smartwatches from Samsung, LG and Motorola.

– Android Auto is similar to Android Wear, but for the car.
