HP, Microsoft Ready Windows 8 Launch
HP and Microsoft are working together closely to prepare the rollout of the launch of their Windows 8 joint products, one that is "tunnel-focused on the customer," top executives from both companies told Dealerscope in an interview at the New Age Electronics Dealer Summit in Chicago Thursday.
Stephanie Dismore, HP's vice president and general manager of U.S. consumer sales and Felicia C. Guity, Microsoft's general manager of worldwide channel products and incidentives for the OEM group, both spoke to Dealerscope after giving individual presentations as part of the summit's general session.
Both executives agreed that, unlike in past Windows launches, the focus this time will be not on the software but the hardware. The products themselves, Dismore said, should "be the hero."
