In its next issue, Consumer Reports will look at the best buys in televisions, rating more than 130 TVs presently on the market. In addition to individual TVs, the issue will look at what customers should consider in terms of screen size, resolution, accessories and more.

TVs listed among Consumer Reports' best buys include 8 LCD TVs and four plasmas. The former group includes Toshiba's 42- and 46-inch Regza TVs, Vizio's 32- and 55-inch models, Sanyo's 26- and 42-inch TVs, and individual choices from LG (42LF11) and Insignia (NS-L42Q.) The plasma group includes: LG's 42PQ30 and 50PQ30, Insignia's NS-P501Q-10A, and Panasonic's Viera TC-42PX14.

"Whether you're a first time buyer or you want to upgrade your existing flat-panel, TV prices have never been better and they continue to fall,"  Electronics Editor Paul Reynolds said as part of the announcement.  "It's not always best to go for the least-expensive model we've found that some features are worth the extra-cost."

Consumer Reports' "Best TVs for the Buck" feature will be included in the magazine's March issue.
