Intel Names Krzanich CEO

Intel said Tuesday that it has named Brian Krzanich its new CEO, replacing the retiring Paul Otellini.

Krzanich has been with Intel since 1982 and previously the company’s chief operating officer. He will officially take over May 16.

“Brian is a strong leader with a passion for technology and deep understanding of the business,” chairman Andy Bryant said in a statement. “His track record of execution and strategic leadership, combined with his open-minded approach to problem solving has earned him the respect of employees, customers and partners worldwide.”
