iSuppli: 60 Percent of Consumers Want Internet-Connected TV
July 2007According to the data, 61 percent of consumers answered “agreed” or “strongly agreed” when asked whether they desire Internet connectivity with the their televisions. That number jumped to 71 percent when asked only of male customers.
As a result of this interest, iSuppli concluded that sales of “network-equipped devices”- which include PCs themselves, DVD recorders, DTVs, cable modems, media adapters, and all home network equipment- will reach 732.9 million units by 2011, up from 225.3 million last year (see attached graph.)
