JCPenney Eliminates Commissions

JCPenney said this week that it will eliminate sales commissions in its stores. According to Business Insider, the company will eliminate some positions as well.

The cuts will apply to all departments and were initiated by CEO Ron Johnson. Johnson previously ran Apple's retail operations.
 
A company spokeswoman told the site that JCPenney is switching to a "competitive hourly rate structure."
