The survey also found that consumers consider price more important now, when purchasing appliances, than they did last year.
"Consumers are scrutinizing the value of new appliance purchases much more carefully than in recent years," J.D. Power's senior director of the real estate and construction industries practice, Dale Haines said as part of the announcement. "Fortunately for consumers, most major appliance brands produce highly reliable products, so good values can be found at a wide range of price points."
