JVC Debuts Projectors at CEDIA ExpoSeptember 7, 2012
JVC at CEDIA Expo announced a new line of 3D-enabled home theater projectors, from both its Consumer AV Group and Professional Products Company.
Gary Klasmeier, product engineering manager, JVC Professional, said all but the entry-level models of the seven new models introduced offer an improved version of the company’s e-shift technology, which enables 4K projection by 2K devices, introduced last year. Now called e-shift2, it uses proprietary JVC algorithms, replacing a two-band filter with an eight-band filter. 3D performance has also been enhanced, he said.
A multiple-setting Lens Memory function on all models that stores custom focus, zoom, and hortizontal/vertical lens shift positions circumvents the need to use an anamorphic lens, said Klasmeier.
The line includes the Procision Series DLA-X95R, DLA-X75R, DLA-X55R and DLA-X35, from JVC’s Consumer AV Group, and the Reference Series DLA-RS66, DLA-RS56, DLA-RS4810, DLA-RS48 and DLA-RS46, from the JVC Professional Products Company. The projectors range in price from $3,499 to $11,999.
JVC also gave private demos of early engineering prototypes of its ProVérité 4K 84-inch LCD monitors. The two models shown will be available in January and priced at under $20,000, with one model optimized for commercial installations and the other, for CEDIA custom installation applications.
