MacBook Air Gets an Update

Apple Thursday announced an update to the MacBook Air, starting at $899. The new version features a faster processor, and up to 9 hours and 12 hours of battery life for the 11- and 13-inch versions.

The computers run on Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors, and OS X Mavericks.

“With MacBook Air starting at $899, there’s no reason to settle for anything less than a Mac,” Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said as part of the announcement. “Macs have never been more popular, and today we’ve boosted the performance and lowered the price of MacBook Air so even more people can experience the perfect everyday notebook.”
