Meridian Names Buchanan CEO

Meridian said Wednesday that it has named John Buchanan its new chief executive. He replaces Tim Ireland, who “has decided to leave Meridian.”

Buchanan had previously served as director of sales, director of sales and marketing and executive vice president with the company, since joining in 2007.

“John has proven himself to be a strong organisational leader in his role at the head of our Consumer Products business, and his appointment as Chief Executive continues the important work necessary to accelerate Meridian’s growth,” Meridian chairman Bob Stuart said as part of the announcement.

“‘I am delighted to accept the challenges offered by this new position,” Buchanan said in a statement. “This is an exciting time for Meridian and our global business partners as we work together to drive the company forward, developing greater business opportunities and promoting the Meridian name to more consumers every day.’
