Mitsubishi's LaserVue 65 laser-powered television, introduced in January at International CES, has arrived in stores, the company announced Tuesday.

The product, which the company says boasts a crisper picture while losing less energy, will be available "select speciality stores," with a price tag of $6,999.

"The consumer demand for LaserVue has simply exceeded our expectations and the product is a terrific example of Mitsubishi’s technology leadership within the home entertainment market," the vice president of marketing for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, Frank DeMartin, said as part of the announcement. "Bringing laser TV to market is a significant industry accomplishment and we’re very proud to be the only TV manufacturer to date that has delivered on the promise of a laser-driven TV,"

I was hoping to see a specification on picture processing time. I play video games a lot, and on fast-paced action and fighting games, not to mention rhythm games, a few milliseconds of lag can be killer. I read the review twice, but can’t seem to find what the A/V lagtime is. Does anybody know?

Yes, the Laserview is a 65 inch TV.

The laser assembly is very costly at present. Mitsubishi beleives that since 65" flatscreen TVs are in this general price range the product is somewhat in line price wise with the competition.

As a 40" tv it would be so much more expensive than the similarly sized competition that it would be a much more difficult sell for the customer.

Is that a 65 inch TV? If it is it is way to big for most people. How about a 40 inch TV.
