Monster Rolls Out Celebs, Models and Plenty of New Gear

Head Monster Noel Lee invited hundreds of press to “Join the Revolution” during the company's CES press conference on Jan. 9.

The company is building on its “always lead, never follow” philosophy with a slew of new products announced in a festive atmosphere where musicians, rappers, designers and gorgeous headphone models took center stage.

 Leading off was a broad lineup of power solutions that deliver total power protection, as well as green power, clean power and now on-the-go power monitoring and control. 

Lee heralded the new Power App that takes the concept of on-the-go power monitoring to a new level, allowing users to manage the power consumption and settings of their home appliances from their Smartphone anywhere at anytime.

Created by People Power, an open source management cloud services and application provider, the Monster Power App provides information in a format that’s said to be easy for users to read, and allows users to track valuable power usage dollars by device over time.

 Monster's Power Control App, designed to work with the company’s new PRT family of PowerCenters, including the PRT 100M (SRP: $59.95), PRT 100MC (SRP: $69.95) and PRT 300MC (SRP: $119.95).

All three of these new PowerCenters work in conjunction with Monster’s Gateway GTW 100 ($59.95), enabling the wireless Power Control App. The all-in-one Monster PRT 300 MC Kit (SRP: $149.95) features both the PRT300MC and the GTW 100.

“We are providing the consumer with intelligent green power to help them save energy," Lee said. "The family of Monster Control products can communicate via the internet  and is a revolution in the power management area."

Also announced was Monster's new digital storage SD cards that are waterproof, shockproof,  and temperature resistant and the new Micro HD portable speaker and speakerphone with personality featuring voice command and control for $229.

But where the Monster team really pulled out all the stops was in the crazy growth category of headphones. The company's partnerships with celebrities, designers and sports figures is legendary, but this year Monster took it to an entirely new level with:

***A skyped Nick Cannon talked live about joining forces with Monster to empower today's youth with the NCredible lifestyle products including the new NTune On-Ear Headphones (SRP: $129.95) and the Nergy In-Ear Headphones (SRP: $69.95), both available now.

All NCredible products combine performance and style with fun, common-sense convenience features, in a hip, stylish package designed to empower today's youth through music and reflect energy, optimism and vitality. Cannon, a musician and TV host, was on hand to tout the products.

 "Music has a very important place in the lives of young people. Earth Wind and Fire's Verdine White was also on hand to talk about the band's partnership with Monster in developing the new  “Gratitude™” (SRP: 229.95), specially created high-performance in-ear headphones.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees and 8-time Grammy Award winners Earth, Wind & Fire wanted headphones that were specifically engineered and tuned to faithfully reproduce the true harmonics of live music and the sonic details of each instrument, resulting in a more natural, immersive and vibrant listening experience.

“Earth, Wind & Fire is legendary for their instrumental virtuosity, perfectionism and attention to detail," Lee said. "This is a band that has been so incredibly influential and that literally defines great musicianship, passion, positivity and funk.

Monster and RadioShack have partnered for the iSport Livestrong Edition Headphones that will benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

 The headphones boldly feature LIVESTRONG’s iconic bright yellow on both the cable and earpieces will be Sweatproof and Washable, with Patented Super-Secure In-Ear Clip Design. They will be available nationwide and online at RadioShack, a leading retailer of Monster headphones and products, starting in February 2012 for a suggested retail price of $179.95, followed by rollout at other retailers later this year.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of the iSport LIVESTRONG headphones will be donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, created in 1997 by the cancer survivor and champion cyclist to serve people affected by cancer and empower them to take action against the world’s leading cause of death.  

Diesel, the iconic lifestyle company and Monster, have formed a partnership under the newly established Diesel Noise Division, this collaboration was established to create trend setting products that fuse Monster’s audio expertise and passion for great sound with Diesel’s fresh, iconoclastic approach to design.

The first of these products, VEKTR, was shown at CES with dramatic styling and is poised to launch this quarter and will be distributed in retail outlets worldwide for a suggested retail price of $249.95.

Featuring a distinctive diamond-cut Diesel logo on each plush ear cup, VEKTR headphones are said to provide the combination of enhanced audio performance and unique visual design that engages the senses and adds a new level of self-expression to the music listening experience.

Diamond Tears - Edge High Definition Music Headphones (SRP: $279.95), the first in a planned family of products to be created in alliance with J.Y. Park, founder of JYP Entertainment (JYPE).

The new Diamond Tears - Edge headphones by Monster will be available beginning the first quarter of 2012, with a new in-ear version scheduled to be available in the latter half of 2012.  The creation of Diamond Tears - Edge Headphones was based on and inspired by J.Y. Park's musical talent. With 48 #1 hits in eight different countries, Park is not only Asia's most prominent producer, composer and artist, he has become the only Asian producer to successfully crossover into the U.S. market.

 Producer of Rain, Wonder Girls, 2PM, 2AM, and miss A, he is also the first Asian producer to work with top U.S. artists such as Will Smith and Mase.

Monster's “Inspiration,” is the company’s first over-ear, noise canceling headphone. Designed for frequent business travelers, home, commuting or office use, Inspiration headphones deliver pure and powerful music reproduction, with a trendsetting “fashion-forward” twist – interchangeable headbands in a multitude of different colors and materials.

This transforms the entire look and feel to suit style preferences for any day, mood or occasion. Available with either a titanium or pearl white finish, as well as a special silver limited edition version, Inspiration over-ear headphones will begin shipping in Spring 2012 for a suggested retail price of $279.95 a pair.

Additionally, “Inspiration Lite” on-ear headphones will be available in June in pearl white for a suggested retail price of $229.95. The interchangeable headbands will be available separately, with eight different styles to choose from initially. Each band carries a suggested retail price of $29.95.
